Marshall McKinnon has served as Tanner Clinic’s CEO since 1996. Under his leadership, Tanner Clinic has grown in reach and reputation, now offering more than 30 specialties in six locations, with more than 130 physicians and advanced practitioners.

Marshall earned a degree in International Finance from Brigham Young University before joining Tanner Clinic in 1990. He later completed an MBA degree. In 2011, he received the Utah Medical Practice Executive of the Year; he’s also a past president of the Utah Medical Group Management Association.

On a professional level, Marshall is known and respected for excellence in his communication and interaction with physicians and staff. He is skilled in health care management, physician and employee relations, strategic planning, managed care, health care regulation, customer service and physician recruitment.

Marshall is a native of Utah but grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He and his wife, residents of Kaysville, have six children. He enjoys BYU everything, reading, traveling, hiking, biking and family time.

David Ray is an accomplished and results-driven professional with a wealth of experience in healthcare operations. As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Tanner Clinic, he oversees the clinic's financial, operational, and medical support processes, ensuring optimal efficiency and excellence in patient care.

David is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) which is board certification in health management. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Utah. (David does cheer for both schools but for three hours a year, during football season, he roots for BYU football.) Prior to his current role, he held the position of administrative director for the Department of Surgery at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and organizational skills.

Throughout his career, David has been actively involved in academia and has contributed significantly to the field. He has showcased his expertise through the presentation and publication of over 20 academic papers and presentations. His work has focused on crucial areas such as quality, efficiency, value, and clinical operations, earning him recognition as a leader in the industry.

Beyond his professional pursuits, David finds inspiration in his personal life. Originally from Arizona, he relocated to Utah, captivated by the state's awe-inspiring outdoors. He draws strength and motivation from his loving wife and five children, who reside with him in Davis County.

David maintains active memberships in esteemed professional organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, Utah Healthcare Executive Member, and Utah Medical Group Management Association. Additionally, he serves as a guest lecturer for Utah Valley University, where he shares his knowledge and insights with aspiring healthcare professionals.

Complementing his education and experience, David is a Lean Six Sigma practitioner, emphasizing his commitment to process improvement and operational excellence. His areas of specialization encompass clinical operations, strategic planning, and team management, where he consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership and an ability to drive positive outcomes.

In his leisure time, David indulges his passion for nature by seeking out remote locations for hiking and exploration such as Coyote Gulch, Leprechaun Canyon, and Sulphur Creek. David enjoys fostering valuable family experiences by exploring the outdoors with his family, playing board games with his children, and talking with his children by the campfire. He also finds solace in reading non-fiction books such as Essentialism and any self-improvement book. David dedicates himself to making a positive impact on the lives of others which is why his favorite movie is “It is a Wonderful Life”. David volunteers as a school board member at a charter school and as a mentor for 8–9-year-old boys.

As Tanner Clinic’s business services director, Kevin Spainhower CPA oversees the clinic’s business office which is responsible for physician billing and coding, customer service, patient collections and financial reporting. The business services director works to maintain good relationships with patients and physicians, as well as a staff of more than 60 people.

Kevin came to Tanner Clinic with many years of experience in corporate finance. Before joining Tanner Clinic, he worked for Associated Food Stores as the retail accounting manager, Optum Bank as the accounting manager and United Savings/Western Mortgage as the controller.

Since joining the clinic in 2007, Kevin also directs the departments that handle patient accounts, insurance billing and accounting.

Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Weber State University, following it up in two years by certifying as a CPA. He and his wife live in Kaysville and are the parents of four children. When he’s not watching the stock market or researching investments, Kevin enjoys yard work, golf and spending time with his family.

As clinical services director for Tanner Clinic, Kathy Bennett is the manager and coach for 300+ clinical staff and receptionists. Kathy also works with the central supply manager to oversee the clinics’ inventory, autoclaving and instrumentation needs.

Kathy has been with Tanner Clinic for more than 20 years. She began her career as an accountant and auditor with Hilton Corporation and Wells Fargo, but knew she wanted to work in the medical field. With her family’s support, Kathy went back to school and earned her EMT certification, CNA certification and her associate degree in medical assisting. She currently holds a medical assistant certification from the AAMA.

Kathy lives in Davis County with her husband, Bryan. They have three children and four grandchildren. Her motto is “work to live, not live to work,” and her many hobbies and interests certainly reflect that belief. Kathy and her husband enjoy outdoors rock crawling in their RZR, road or mountain biking, snowmobiling or exploring backroads on her Harley.

Never one to sit still, Kathy is also a 14-year volunteer with the Weber County Search and Rescue team. As a search and rescue volunteer, she assists with medical training and managing the command center during active call outs. She also assists with mock trainings for specialized teams. Kathy enjoys spending time with her agility dog, Gingersnap, who is an AKC Open Agility Champion.

Travis LaMar joined Tanner Clinic in 2007. As ancillary services director, Travis oversees the clinic’s imaging services, lab, sleep lab, clinical research, audiology and voice therapy departments.

Before joining Tanner Clinic, Travis worked for Ogden Regional Medical Center where he completed his clinical education. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Weber State University, then went on to earn his Master of Health Administration degree from Weber State University as well.

He and his wife live in Davis County where they are raising their three children. Travis enjoys spending time with his family and loves any activity that brings him outdoors, including mountain biking, snow skiing, water skiing and hiking the beautiful Wasatch mountains.

Susie Rampton joined Tanner Clinic in October 2022. As the Director of Human Resources, she is responsible for Tanner Clinic’s staff of 900+ employees, including 200+ providers. Before joining Tanner Clinic, Susie worked with several commercial and industrial construction companies. Overseeing human resources and payroll as well as benefit and retirement plans.

With a passion for helping others and watching them grow, she knew that human resources was the right field her. There’s never a dull moment in HR, with plenty of opportunities for making connections with staff and colleagues.

She and her husband Cody live in Layton, together they have three daughters and one fur baby. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with family and laughing as much as possible. She enjoys singing, dancing, cooking and overall just having fun. During the summer months, she can be found on the lake with her family, jet skiing and paddle boarding, and possibly vacationing in Hawaii.

Mike Millerberg brings extensive experience to his position as health information services (HIS) director. His role oversees medical records, IT, and the NextGen system, which requires development and database support.

Mike graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Before coming to Tanner Clinic seven years ago, he was a software developer manager with InterContinental Hotels, writing their reservation center software for 15 years. Mike parted ways with the company when they moved the development to Atlanta. Rather than move, Mike chose to stay in Davis County where he was raised, met and married his wife, and they raised their children.

He and his wife of 28 years have five children, four of whom followed in their dad’s footsteps and are attending or have graduated from BYU. His youngest is currently attending LDS Business College. With an empty nest, Mike is learning new hobbies which he is putting to good use finishing his basement. He also enjoys spending time with family, camping, yard work, racquetball and family history.

Lindsey Quayle joined Tanner Clinic in 2014 after working in healthcare finance for 5 years. She received her Bachelor’s in Accounting from Utah State University and just completed her Master’s Degree in Accounting in 2021 at Southern Utah University. She currently oversees the payroll process for physicians and employees. She also analyzes and provides various financial information the Board of Directors and Administration.

She has a passion for learning and attributes the growth in her career to her desire to improve and trying to learn all that she can. She loves Excel and has always had a love for math and accounting. She describes herself as analytical, an over-researcher, and she thinks she’s pretty funny.

Lindsey and her husband, Jared, live in West Haven on a little farm with their three children. They love to spend time with their family, vacation, go camping, visit their family cabin in Island Park, and play board games. You can often find Lindsey with a Diet Dr. Pepper in hand talking about Harry Potter.

Kellen Cooke joined Tanner Clinic in 2021. He oversees the Population Health Department to coordinate patient care delivery in our value-based care plans with insurance companies.

Prior to joining Tanner Clinic, Kellen worked for Optum helping manage Value Based initiatives for Medicare Advantage patients. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Therapy as well as a Masters of Health Administration degree from Weber State University.

He has always had a passion for helping and serving those around him, which is one of the reasons he decided to work in health care. He sees leadership as an opportunity to serve and focus on the needs of others and develop those he works with to unlock their true potential. Kellen truly feels if you aren’t serving, you aren’t leading and he works to apply that in his professional and personal life. Kellen and his wife, Kaitlynn, live in Layton with their 3 beautiful children. They love to spend time as a family camping, trail riding, and anything to do with sports.

Cayden Womack joined Tanner Clinic full-time in 2019 after spending the previous two summers working as an intern at the clinic. As Practice Director, he oversees the Roy, Westside, Syracuse, and Murray clinics as well as various ancillary services groups.

Cayden graduated from Utah State University with Bachelor's degrees in Finance and Economics. He then went on to earn a Master of Health Administration degree from Weber State University. He also enjoys volunteering in the community as a board member for the Utah Medical Group Management Association (UMGMA).

Cayden learned early on that every patient has a story, and the smallest of gestures can improve their quality of life. As a leader at the clinic, he works hard to create and maintain positive relationships each day. Having grown up in Kaysville, he and his wife, Kensey, now live in South Weber with their two children. They love to cheer on the local sports teams and spend time together as a family. They can often be found playing board games, watching musicals, spending time outdoors, or having spontaneous dance parties.

Mayleen Sessoins joined Tanner Clinic in 2024. As a Practice Director, she oversees Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Behavioral Health, Neurology, and Pediatrics.

Her educational background includes graduating with her Bachelors Degree from Weber State University in Health Administration and then earning her MBA from Phoenix University.

Mayleen comes to Tanner Clinic with extensive experience in Health Care. She previously worked at HCA Hospital, University of Utah and Ogden Clinic.

She believes that if you are able to inspire others to do more, dream more and do more, you yourself become more of a leader. In her spare time she enjoys baking, especially if it is something sweet. Her favorite is chocolate chip cookies. Camping in the Uintahs and being outdoors is her happy place. She was raised in Davis County and adores residing in the community where she spent her childhood, now raising her three children there.

Ashlee Shemenski joined Tanner Clinic in 2023. Serving as a Practice Director, she oversees specialty clinics in the Layton South Building and the Main Building as well as patient experience and clinical research.

Prior to joining Tanner Clinic, she worked as a registered dental hygienist in a private dental office and as a clinical instructor at Weber State University. She is a current member and has served on the Board of Trustees for the Utah Dental Hygienists' Association. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Dental Hygiene and a Master Degree in Health Administration both from Weber State University. Ashlee is passionate about preventive healthcare and serving the community.

Creating connections and taking time to learn about individual patients is important to Ashlee as she seeks opportunities to improve their quality of life. As a leader at the clinic, Ashlee will focus on high-quality care and support the physicians and their team to ensure a great patient experience. She believes that if you aren't continuously learning, you will be missing out on opportunities to improve your life. Ashlee and her husband, Stephen, live in Marriott-Slaterville with their three children, Jason, Kylee, and Tyler. She loves to travel with her family and has plans for more! She loves crafting, gardening, and just being outside!
