Ali Girten, MS, RD, LDN, CD

Ali Girten, MS, RD, LDN, CD joins Tanner Clinic’s Nutrition Resources department as a Registered Dietitian ​specializing in eating disorders. She is located at our East Layton Clinic in the basement. She has a BS and MS in Nutrition and Dietetics. Ali grew up in Ohio and spent seven years living and working in Chicago prior to moving to Utah. Before joining Tanner Clinic, Ali worked in a hospital and then a dialysis center. She has ​previous experience with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, malnutrition, and tube feeding.

Ali believes that every person has the right to pursue health regardless of his or her body size. She believes that recovery from disordered eating behaviors is possible. She is compassionate, sensitive, and funny and knows those traits help make her patients comfortable. Ali loves to help her patients reach ‘lightbulb’ moments in their relationships with food. She helps patients challenge diet culture beliefs, food rules, and other black-and-white thinking surrounding food and nutrition.

Her happy place is a peaceful and warm golden hour after a long day. She also loves visiting Cincinnati to visit her parents, sisters, and pups! For fun, Ali enjoys trail running, downhill skiing, yoga, climbing, cooking, and baking.
