Kenna Larsen, MD, comes to Tanner Clinic’s East Layton location on the main floor, west wing looking to help those with hand pain find relief. She said, “People will often suffer with hand problems and don’t know there’s something we can do to improve their symptoms. Hands are like New York real estate, there’s a lot going on in a really tiny place and it all has to work together for our hands to function normally.”

Originally from Sandy, Utah, she attended Utah State University and the University of New Mexico for her bachelor’s degree. She graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, did her orthopedic residency at Oregon Health & Science University, and then completed her hand and microvascular fellowship at the University of New Mexico. She is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds additional Subspecialty Certification in Surgery of the Hand. Along with her work in orthopedics, she is also the former Medical Director at South Ogden Surgery Center.

Dr. Larsen has spent her career putting the patient first and working hard to help them heal. “The patients are the most fun,” she said. “I love getting to know their stories, it’s important, especially in hand surgery. When I meet them, I want to know what it is they do, and how they use their hands because it affects everything they do in life.”

Not only does she look to help her patients, but Dr. Larsen also seeks to build relationships for the best possible healthcare experience. “I try to treat my patients like they’re a friend or family member,” she said. “Doctors get to connect with our patients at a time when they’re in pain or having difficulty. Our goal is to try to improve their quality of life and help them through a time that they don’t want to be in.”

Outside of her practice, she loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys mountain biking, skiing, scuba diving, and playing the violin.
