IPL Photofacial: Reverse Sun Damage & Restore Clarity

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is the gold standard for treating hyperpigmentation, redness, and the visible signs of aging caused by the sun.

What is an IPL Photofacial?

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is not a laser but a broad-spectrum light treatment. It works by sending wavelengths of light into the skin that are absorbed by specific "targets"—namely the brown pigment (melanin) in sunspots and the red pigment (hemoglobin) in broken capillaries.

When these targets absorb the light energy, they are heated and destroyed, allowing your body to naturally clear away the debris, resulting in a more even and youthful skin tone.

Brown Spots & Pigment

Commonly known as "liver spots" or freckles, these are clusters of melanin caused by UV exposure. IPL breaks these down effectively.

Redness & Rosacea

By targeting the blood vessels responsible for persistent redness and flushing, IPL calms the complexion and reduces visible veins.

Clinical Benefits

  • Eliminates sun-induced brown spots
  • Reduces facial redness and flushing
  • Minimal downtime ("Lunchtime" procedure)
  • Stimulates mild collagen production
  • Improves overall skin texture and tone
  • Treats face, neck, chest, and hands

The Experience & Results

1

The Sensation

During the treatment, you may feel a warm snap, often described as a rubber band flicking against the skin. We use cooling gels to ensure your comfort throughout the session.

2

The "Coffee Ground" Effect

Over the 3-5 days following treatment, brown spots will darken and rise to the surface, looking like tiny coffee grounds, before naturally flaking off to reveal clear skin.

3

Series of Treatments

While results are visible after one session, a series of 3 to 5 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is typically recommended for transformative results.

"Sun protection is vital post-treatment. Since we are removing the damaged cells, your new skin is vulnerable. Daily SPF 30+ is the most important part of your recovery and maintenance plan."
