From leading a family practice in Colorado to joining Davis County’s search and rescue team, he’s well-prepared to care for patients of all ages. “Family medicine is your go-to for almost anything,” he says, “and if we can’t fix it, we’ll make sure you get to someone who can.” When he’s not caring for patients, you’ll find him camping, hiking, singing, or hitting the disc golf course!

A Davis County native and Davis High grad, he went on to study at Weber State and Michigan State University, where he specialized in neuromuscular and osteopathic medicine. Before medicine, Dr. Baxter was a scientist testing water across the West. He later joined the U.S. Air Force during the Gulf War and continued to serve in the Reserves. He’s been with Tanner Clinic since 2000, caring for patients of all ages.
Fluent in Portuguese, Dr. Baxter loves reading, traveling, sports, and playing piano. He’s also big on community service—and has volunteered with the Boy Scouts since he was 17!

He and his wife have five kids, three grandkids, and a whole lot of love for family time and home projects.
