Dr. Hansen is dedicated to improving himself every day and is extremely passionate about caring for and helping his patients. His passion for sports and family medicine began when he worked as a CNA and physical therapy assistant at a local nursing home for 6 years. While there, he enjoyed developing long term relationships with patients and their families. “Family medicine has given me a similar opportunity of building lasting relationships and caring my patients as a whole.” Dr. Hansen has always had a passion for sports, the outdoors, and being active. Those interests drew him to sports medicine where he could help others enjoy their hobbies and passions. “Injuries are unfortunately a part of life and sport, my goal is to get my patients back to doing what they love as soon, and safely, as possible. I treat athletes of all ages and abilities.”
He also has a particular passion in utilizing individualized exercise physiology to allow each athlete to train and compete at their highest level. Also, utilizing musculoskeletal ultrasonography in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic tendon injuries. Dr. Hansen has provided medical coverage for multiple high schools, Weber state university, University of Tulsa, Oral Robert’s University, the Ogden Raptors, the Tulsa Drillers, Tulsa Athletics, and multiple community events including the Ogden Marathon, Route 66 marathon, the Tulsa Tough bike race, and the Iron Man World Championships.
Some of his sports medicine services include:
Dr. Hansen enjoys golf (which is where he loves to spend his free time), pickleball, weightlifting, hiking, camping, and paddle boarding with family. He and his wife have three daughters together, and his wife also works in healthcare as an ICU nurse. His children also share a love of the outdoors and athletics, so Dr. Hansen has been able to coach many of their sports. His happy place is up in the mountains, near a lake with no cell service so he and his family can get away and unwind.
