Tyson Jergensen, MD is an Interventional Spine and Pain and Pain Management provider at our Layton Antelope A building on the east wing of the second floor.

Dr. Jergensen is a board-certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain physician with a strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. In addition to his work in the Interventional Spine & Pain department, Dr. Jergensen also leads the Pain Management Clinic, where he focuses on medication-based management of chronic pain. This dual role allows him to provide patients with a comprehensive approach that integrates both advanced interventional therapies and tailored medical management. Dr. Jergensen is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life by making pain more manageable and enhancing overall function.

He specializes in treating a wide range of painful conditions, including:

  • Neck and Back Pain
  • Joint Pain
  • Headache
  • Cancer-Related Pain
  • Other Complex Pain Disorders

His goal is to reduce pain and improve function while potentially helping patients avoid more invasive surgeries.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Developmental Biology from Brigham Young University, along with an advanced certificate in Spanish language proficiency. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Jergensen completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Utah, where he was named Chief Resident, before pursuing fellowship training in Interventional Pain at the University of Utah.

Throughout his training, Dr. Jergensen was active in clinical research and quality improvement projects, with work focused on transitional pain services, opioid stewardship, and frailty prevention in older adults. He has presented his research at national conferences and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children. As a family, they love traveling, especially going to the Bahamas to go lobster fishing. He takes his family wake surfing and loves watching his kids learn to surf. In the winter you can find him teaching his oldest girls how to ski on the best snow on earth. They have found a new favorite family activity, pickleball, where he is happy to say no one has beat him yet.
