Get to Know Your Specialist

Richmond S. Doxey, MD, CCMS, is an internal medicine specialist at the Layton clinic. His practice is located on the third floor at Layton Parkway.

As an internist and culinary medicine specialist, Dr. Doxey’s interests include the influence of food patterns and other lifestyle factors on chronic illness, teaching his patients to harness the power of lifestyle changes to prevent and treat chronic illness.

Dr. Doxey, grew up in Salt Lake City, and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Molecular Biology. He attended the Medical College of Wisconsin, and completed his internal medicine residency training at the University of Washington, Boise VA Program. He stayed for an additional year as a chief resident. He practiced at the University of Utah for several years before joining Tanner Clinic. He is a member of the Society for General Internal Medicine and has presented at various local, regional and national conferences on the power of food to treat chronic disease.

He is married and has four children. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially camping, hiking, running, cooking, singing and gardening!
