Camille Stevenson, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist (OBGYN) at Tanner Clinic. Her practice is located on the main floor of the Layton Antelope Building B.
For Dr. Stevenson, the path to a medical career began with a pair of pretty significant moments in the formative years of her youth.
“I had quite a few interactions with an amazing doctor as a child,” Dr. Stevenson said. “He was incredibly compassionate and caring, and he showed me that a physician can change someone’s life for the better.”
In high school, a biology teacher showed Dr. Stevenson what was possible. “She inspired in me a love of science, and showed me my goal of becoming a physician was possible,” Dr. Stevenson said.
Dr. Stevenson, a native of Ogden, joined Tanner Clinic’s OB/GYN department at the Layton location after practicing in Salt Lake City as an OB/GYN since 2009.
“I’m from Ogden, and my husband is a devoted Davis Dart, so I was glad to be able to join Tanner Clinic,” Dr. Stevenson said.
Dr. Stevenson received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah. She also earned her M.D. from the University of Utah and completed her residency at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
“Dr. Stevenson has strong ties to Davis County and we are very excited that she has chosen Tanner Clinic Layton to continue her career as an OB/GYN physician,” said CEO Marshall McKinnon.
“I’m excited every day to care for women and their health,” Dr. Stevenson said. “I love the challenge of helping women stay healthy.”
That challenge is part of what keeps medicine exciting for Dr. Stevenson. “Medicine is not like a textbook,” she said. “There is an answer for each person, and it may be different for different people. I love discussing the issue and solving the puzzle of what will work best.”
The highest prize of Dr. Stevenson’s career is the relationships she builds with her patients. “I value those relationships above any other part of my career,” she said.
In her free time, Dr. Stevenson enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family.
