Curtis Healey, MD

Curtis Healey, MD, is a family medicine physician practicing on the main floor of the Layton Antelope Building A east wing.

Dr. Healey’s career has taken him from the corridors of software engineering to the halls of medicine. The board-certified family medicine doctor joined Tanner Clinic in 2016 after practicing for 15 years as a family practitioner in North Ogden.

Dr. Healey received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Utah State University in 1992. He then completed a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Utah. Dr. Healey worked as an engineer at Motorola and Utah State before joining the University Hospital in Salt Lake City as a research assistant to help develop a cardiac output monitor.

As he was working to develop the monitor, he felt that something was missing.

“I needed more human interaction,” he said. So it was a natural decision for him to combine his love for medical engineering and his love for helping people into a career as a family medicine physician.

Dr. Healey completed his M.D. at the University of Utah and finished his residency at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. He worked as an ER physician in Cache and Juab Counties before opening his family medicine practice in Ogden.

Dr. Healey loves being able to become familiar with an entire family—from grandparents to their grandchildren, and at times, their great-grandchildren! He enjoys the relationships he’s built with his patients and his ability as a doctor to help them improve their health and wellbeing.

Dr. Healey is married with five children. He is a soccer fan and has coached competitive soccer teams for several years. He also enjoys tennis, basketball, camping, and spending as much time as possible with his family.
