Cynthia Benson, FNP, joined Tanner Clinic to continue growing her passion for health and patient care work at the East Layton Behavioral Health Clinic, west entrance.
Benson has moved around the United States quite a bit, growing up in New Mexico and then getting her bachelor’s in nursing from the University of San Francisco, California. While earning her master’s in nursing and her family nurse practitioner degree from Indiana State University, she worked in the pediatric and adult intensive care unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital and Lakeview Hospital.
“I’ve always had an interest in caring for the family as a whole, working on health promotion and total health well-being. Balancing physical and mental health is a key element to overall well being. Caring for your mental health is an act of self-love,” said Benson on her decision to go into medicine, treating patients from childhood through geriatrics.
Cynthia loves working with her patients to build trusting relationships that allow them to achieve their health goals. She chose Tanner Clinic because of the clinic’s family environment with teams of providers working together to provide total body health for patients.
Outside of her practice, Benson enjoys being active outdoors and traveling with her family while serving medical missions, both domestically and abroad.
