David VandeMerwe, MD

David VandeMerwe, MD is a family medicine provider at our Farmington location. He attended the University of Utah for his undergrad in behavioral science and health, then attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, and completed a family medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. VandeMerwe loves family medicine and believes it is important to have a trusted relationship with a primary care provider. He loves people and values long-term relationships with patients of all ages and their extended families.

He grew up in the North Salt Lake/Bountiful area and is happy to be serving the community he grew up in. Together, he and his wife have five children and three grandchildren. A guilty pleasure of his is definitely soda, more particularly the Diet Endless Summer at Swig, Winter Ruby at Fiiz, and the Bombshell at Twisted Sugar (and an ice-cold Diet Coke). In his free time, Dr. VandeMerwe enjoys spending time with family and great friends. He also enjoys music and playing the piano. He loves skiing, hiking in the mountains of northern Utah, canyoneering in southern Utah, and home improvement projects. As for reading material or entertainment, Dr. VandeMerwe likes following current events by reading the newspaper, reading articles online, or listening to the radio.
