Dustin Child, MD

Like many family practice doctors, Dustin G. Child, MD, was drawn to family medicine because of the opportunities to help a variety of patients in a variety of ways. “I enjoy serving people and helping them be healthy and happy,” he said. “Caring for patients brings me great personal satisfaction.” Dr. Child is located at our Kaysville clinic.

With the last name ‘Child’ many people suggested that he become a pediatrician. While Dr. Child loves caring for children, he also wanted to care for a broad range of patients, so he decided to enter family practice. He enjoys being able to get to know the entire family and care for the needs of each individual. He also has a special interest in sports medicine.

Dr. Child grew up in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in physics. He earned his M.D. from Saint Louis University and completed his residency at McKay-Dee Hospital. During residency, he also worked in the emergency room at Central Valley Medical Center in Nephi and in clinics in South Ogden, North Ogden, and Layton. He then continued his career at a healthcare clinic in South Ogden in 2001 and loved caring for his patients there.

Dr. Child enjoys spending time coaching his kids in sports like baseball, football, soccer, and basketball. Dr. Child also enjoys spending time volunteering with his family. They were able to help families in Guatemala in 2012 and began serving with the Smiles Abroad organization in 2015.

Dr. Child and his wife, Angie, are parents to eight children and five grandchildren.

“My favorite activities are to do anything with Angie, the kids, or grandkids. I like to play basketball, coach my kids, and try to keep up with Angie on her bike or at Disneyland. I also like to pretend I’m in the NFL every Thanksgiving Day when we play Turkey Bowl as a family.”

Dr. Child is fluent in Spanish.
