Hailey Russell, DNP, FNP is a part of the family medicine department at our Westside clinic on the main floor. She has worked the past six years in various ICU and ER settings before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Hailey earned her Doctorate of Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Geriatric Certificate from ISU in 2021, CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) in 2017, and is a member of the AANP and the AACN. While she has enjoyed each place that she has worked, Hailey is excited to be a part of Tanner Clinic in family medicine.
Hailey believes that being an active empathetic listener gives her insight into the patient and compassion as the provider. Time in the ICU and ER has honed her critical thinking and helped her expedite her treatment pathway; as well as mixing humor and kindness to help put patients at ease. When asked about the work she does, she believes that being a good provider can make the difference between a patient feeling empowered versus overwhelmed in their time of need.
Hailey has volunteered with an organization that traveled to Haiti and assisted patients living in rural areas that otherwise had no access to medical care. Currently, she volunteers her time with the 4-H Equestrian Program in Davis County.
Hailey is a native of Davis County. She and her husband, Chris, have four dogs and three horses. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, barrel racing, volunteering at 4-H, hiking with her dogs, traveling, and going to the sand dunes with her friends. Her favorite guilty pleasure is a cookie from Twisted Sugar.
Hailey asked that the following statement be included so patients can get to know her as a provider:
“I love seeing patients throughout their whole lifespan, and that’s why I am excited to work in family practice! I enjoy treating all ages and health conditions. I am (and always will be) first a nurse and second a provider. My background as a nurse has taught me how to critically think, empathize, and listen to patients, while also educating them about different options available for their health and care. Being a nurse has also helped me understand that many people are nervous when it comes to seeing a provider. I try to find a personal connection with every patient because it is important to make them feel secure and at ease. My goal is to make you feel comfortable in both coming to see me, talking with me about your health, and choosing me to be your provider.”
