Jahangir "Jay" Ahmed, MD

Dr. Jay Ahmed is a Nephrologist at Tanner Clinic at our Syracuse location with a special interest in taking care of patients with Chronic kidney disease, Diabetes, Hypertension & End stage renal disease with a passion for home dialysis so that if needed the patients can get dialysis at the comfort of their homes. He is recognized as one of the leading Nephrologists providing home dialysis care.

Dr. Jay completed his Internal Medicine training in New York City and his Nephrology fellowship at Tufts Medical Centre in Boston. He has years of experience in treating patients with kidney disease and has also worked in South Florida before moving to Utah. Dr. Jay moved to Utah not only for the beautiful mountains but also for the culture and people here.

His aim has always been to create a sense of partnership with his patients and to make medical decisions not for them but with them. Dr. Jay loves to remain abreast of new pharmaceutical and technological advancements by reading up on the latest research within his area of expertise.

In his free time, he loves to explore Utah outdoors and experience nature with his wife, kids, and Gucci (the Jay family dog).

He is excited to be part of Tanner Clinic where he will also be actively pursuing research for further improving kidney disease care. He believes that his work is not about him but rather it’s about the lives of every patient he takes care of and he is looking forward to bringing an exceptional level of care to his community.
