Mark Jorgensen, MD, practices family medicine at our Westside clinic on the main floor and is now accepting new patients and referrals.
Dr. Jorgensen grew up in the small town of Moses Lake, Washington. A farm boy at heart, he spent many hours of his youth in the fields and on the tractor at his father’s potato farm. Following high school, Dr. Jorgensen served a mission for his church in Guatemala. While there, he was severely injured in a bike accident and underwent maxillofacial surgery. After recovering from his injuries, Dr. Jorgensen discovered his interest in medicine and helping others, especially after experiencing the lack of medical needs in a third-world country firsthand.
Dr. Jorgensen earned his bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Brigham Young University. He then moved to Bentonville, Arkansas, and worked as a computer programmer for Walmart Corporate offices for two years. Following this, Dr. Jorgensen moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, to attend medical school.
The physician earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He then completed his residency at the AHEC Pine Bluff Family Practice Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas—an affiliate of UAMS—where he was chief resident.
Dr. Jorgensen and his wife, Lisa, are happy to live in Davis County with their three kids. In his spare time, he enjoys camping, playing sports, woodworking, computers, scuba diving, and spending time with family.
