Dr. Matthew Redd adds to the patient-focused environment of Tanner Clinic by consistently helping his patients understand their GI health in a one-on-one environment. He is located in the Bitner building on the second floor. on the South Ogden building on the second floor.
A Utah native originally from Farmington, he attended the University of Utah, went to Midwestern University in Arizona for medical school, did his residency at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
Dr. Redd said that he chose the route of gastroenterology because he “liked the blend of patient interaction and hands-on experience.” With that blend, he has been able to hone his craft and help patients cure their digestive problems.
Along with general gastroenterology, Dr. Redd specializes in inflammatory bowel disease and esophageal disorders. He said, “I enjoy helping people who have dealt with chronic illness to feel better.”
He emphasized the necessity of getting vital, life-saving screenings. “It’s very important to get screening colonoscopies,” he said. “Thirty to forty percent of people will have a pre-cancerous polyp on their initial colonoscopy.”
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his family.
