Michael G. Allred, MD, practices family medicine at the Layton Antelope Building A. His practice is located on the second floor of the clinic’s east wing.
After growing up with a father who was a large-animal veterinarian, Dr. Allred concluded he loved the medical part, but the animal allergies? Not so much.
Today, Dr. Allred cares for his human patients as a family medicine doctor at the Layton Tanner Clinic. The board-certified physician has been with the clinic since 2004.
Dr. Allred is a West Point, Utah, native and attended Weber State University to obtain his bachelor’s degree.
He received his M.D. at the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his residency with the McKay-Dee Family Practice in Ogden, serving in his third year as chief resident. During his residency, Dr. Allred volunteered as an attending physician at Weber County Job Corps doing urgent care and physicals for new intakes. He also volunteered as an urgent-care physician at clinics throughout Weber County.
Dr. Allred has continued his volunteer work in the community by treated patients at several clinics, including the Ogden Rescue Mission and Children’s Health Connection in Ogden.
Dr. Allred is the father of four children. Outside of work, he enjoys fly fishing, traveling, working with Scouts and running (often in races).
