Rachel B. Hobbs, MD, is a family medicine physician practicing on the first floor of Layton Parkway.
Dr. Hobbs returned to her hometown, where in elementary school she’d dreamed of being a doctor, in the role of family physician to help and treat her neighbors and community members.
Dr. Hobbs, who grew up in Roy and now lives in nearby Syracuse, joined Tanner Clinic in 2004 where she enjoys building relationships with her patients.
Dr. Hobbs began her college education at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. There the honor student received a B.S. in Public Health with an emphasis on industrial hygiene.
Before entering medical school, Dr. Hobbs used her undergraduate degree at Autoliv, where she was responsible for employee safety related to chemicals.
She earned her M.D. from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed her residency in the McKay-Dee Family Medicine Residency program.
The board-certified physician now focuses on family wellness, managing chronic illnesses and general children’s care, as well as urgent care.
Dr. Hobbs has been involved in volunteer work, working as a team physician with Bonneville High School, and as a physician at the Ogden Rescue Mission, the Children’s Health Connection in Ogden, and the Davis Volunteer Medical Clinic.
She’s also served as adjunct faculty in Weber State University’s Department of Health, as well as a physician for WSU’s Department of Athletics and the Weber Basin Job Corps.
Dr. Hobbs is married and the mother of four children. In her spare time, you’ll find her listening to music, reading and spending time with her family.
