Rachel Hobbs, MD

Rachel B. Hobbs, MD, is a family medicine physician practicing on the first floor of Layton Parkway.

After dreaming of becoming a doctor as a young girl growing up in Roy, Dr. Hobbs is grateful to now care for the same community that inspired her to pursue medicine. Since joining Tanner Clinic in 2004, she has found great joy in building lasting relationships with her patients and helping individuals and families stay healthy through every stage of life.

Dr. Hobbs earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health with an emphasis in industrial hygiene from Utah State University. Before attending medical school, she worked at Autoliv, where she focused on employee chemical safety. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed her residency through the McKay-Dee Family Medicine Residency Program.

As a board-certified family physician, Dr. Hobbs believes that the best healthcare begins with listening. She enjoys getting to know her patients, understanding their unique needs, and partnering with them to achieve their health goals. Whether she’s providing preventive care, managing chronic conditions, caring for children, or treating unexpected illnesses through urgent care, she strives to help every patient feel comfortable, informed, and supported.

Giving back has always been an important part of Dr. Hobbs’ career. She has volunteered as a team physician for Bonneville High School and has provided medical care through the Ogden Rescue Mission, Children’s Health Connection, and the Davis Volunteer Medical Clinic. She has also served as adjunct faculty in Weber State University’s Department of Health, as well as a physician for the university’s Department of Athletics and the Weber Basin Job Corps.

Dr. Hobbs and her husband live in Syracuse and are the proud parents of four children. Outside the office, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and making memories with her family!
