Stacy Probasco, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant who works with Dr. Joshua Shepherd in our Interventional Spine & Pain department. Her office is located in the basement of the Layton Antelope Building B.
Joining and practicing with the Interventional Spine and Pain team at Tanner Clinic has been extremely rewarding for Stacy. With the majority of her patients facing either acute or chronic pain, Stacy understands that pain is a life-altering disease. She strives to provide quality patient care while improving her patient’s quality of life.
“Pain is not treated only for the symptom of pain alone,” said Stacy. “Rather, it’s treated for the overall destructive cycle that patients experience due to pain. Self-esteem, emotional stress, work struggles, activity levels, anxiety, depression, relational issues, and many more aspects of life are affected by pain.”
Stacy also provides her patients with motivation, encouragement, and validated evidence-based practice outcomes to help improve their overall health.
Stacy added, “The goal is to improve personal function to ultimately increase an individual’s quality of life and overall health through various pain management modalities.”
Stacy completed her B.S. in lifestyle management from Weber State University. During her studies, Stacy focused on fitness and nutrition and discovered her passion for preventative care. Following her undergraduate studies, Stacy became a recreational therapist and activity director for a long-term care facility.
With a desire to provide direct patient care, Stacy then pursued her education in nursing. After earning her nursing degree, she practiced as a registered nurse for eight years.
Stacy was later affected by a chronic illness and experienced life as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) patient. Her experiences encouraged her to complete her Master of Physician Assisting degree from the University of Utah. Since 2016, she’s been practicing as a PA-C within the Interventional Spine and Pain department of Tanner Clinic and loves educating and caring for her patients.
Along with her husband and two children, Probasco enjoys all outdoor activities Utah has to offer. She especially loves mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and watching her children compete in sports.
Together, they enjoy traveling, especially to third-world countries to participate in short-term mission projects or recovery projects. She also stays active in local community projects and loves to see her children grow in respect for humanity as they serve others.
All insurance accepted by the clinic.
