Adam Frischknecht, MD

Dr. Adam Frischknecht, MD, joins Tanner Clinic’s pediatric department looking to build partnerships with his patients and their families. “Pediatrics is a collaboration between the physician, the patient, and their families,” he said. “We use shared decision-making a lot with the patients and families in order to help achieve the best quality of life for the child.” He is located at our Westside clinic in the basement.

Originally from Fruit Heights, Utah, he attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate degree, the University of Michigan for his master’s degree in mechanical engineering, and Michigan State University for his medical degree. He did his pediatric residency in Phoenix, Arizona, at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center.

Before he joined Tanner Clinic, Dr. Frischknecht was a chief resident and a staff physician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center.

Along with general pediatrics, Dr. Frischknecht has special interests in treating asthma and eczema. Training at a high-acuity tertiary care hospital and clinic also prepared him for continued work with patients with complex medical needs.

“I like being able to provide clarity to the parents,” he said. “There’s a lot of uncertainty, fear, and anxiety when a child is sick or has complex needs. I enjoy working together to find out what’s going on and then providing the necessary information needed to make good decisions about what to do next.”

Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time mountain biking, running, and spending time outdoors with his wife and their five daughters.

Dr. Frischknecht is fluent in Spanish.
