April Knight, LMFT is a provider within our Mental Health Therapy department at our Layton location in the North Davis Medical Building. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, minoring in Family Studies from Weber State University, and a Master’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Utah Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
April has received extensive post-graduate training in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and complex relational issues. She believes that healing power lies within each of us. She said, “we each have the capacity to overcome, rise, and create rich meaningful lives.” April works collaboratively with clients to custom design treatment plans that meet them where they are and prioritize their desired outcomes.
April grew up in Provo and Syracuse, Utah, and is the oldest of 5 siblings. During her adult life, she has lived in the Phoenix, Arizona, El Paso, Texas, and Tacoma, Washington areas. She enjoys writing, painting, hiking, cooking, being in nature, and exploring new ways to create. April has two biological children and will soon be adding a husband and four bonus kids to the mix!
For entertainment, April likes to read. She recently read and enjoyed Atlas of the Heart by Brene’ Brown, The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer, Fierce Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff, and Emotional Agility by Susan David. As far as fiction goes, she recently read the pre-published manuscript of The Denville Chronicles by DeMar Palmer and declares it brilliant! Her happy place is nature – she loves trees, water, and the sky. One of her favorite guilty pleasures is chocolate-covered nuts.
