Mike Derrick, MD is one of our Pediatric providers at our East Layton clinic on the main floor, east wing. He attended the Utah Valley University for his undergraduate degree in biology, Texas Tech for medical school, and the University of Florida for a pediatric residency. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
Mike is personable and loves helping children and families work together for the best possible outcomes for their health. He believes that raising healthy and happy kids is one of the most important and rewarding aspects of life. “I love that I get to participate in that in a small way with so many kids.”
He grew up in Sandy, UT, and has a wife and four children. He loves spending time with his family and enjoys sports, especially soccer, and enjoys other outdoor activities. He also likes audiobooks in many different genres.
Mike said his happy place is “a beach in Florida!” As for a guilty pleasure – he likes to go to Chili’s just for appetizers and dessert.
