Kimberly Folkman, RDN, comes to Tanner Clinic with 20+ years of clinical nutrition experience and a zeal for wanting to help people live healthier lives. She loves connecting with people and helping them implement changes to feel their best. She is located at our Layton Antelope Building A on the basement level, east wing.
Originally from Pleasant View, Utah, Folkman attended Utah State University where taking nutrition classes sparked her passion for the subject. “What you put in your body is important to help you feel your absolute best,” she said. “I love working with people and seeing their positive results as they apply what they learn. It’s not about the quick fix, it’s about lasting health.”
She specializes in medical nutrition therapy (dietary treatment for diabetes, weight management, kidney disease, allergies, heart disease, hypertension, pediatrics, fatty liver, hypothyroid, IBS/IBS, healthy eating/healthy relationship with food, etc.) and sports nutrition. Patients can look to her for sound professional expertise and practical ideas to make good nutrition easier.
Folkman has worked in both inpatient and outpatient care for people of all ages, ranging from babies to those over 100 years old. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and running. She found her love for running after the birth of her fourth child. She went from being a non-runner to completing her first race, the Moab Half Marathon.
This favorite quote of hers motivates her to move on in her work while she helps others move on in their lives: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that count.” – Winston Churchill.
