Seeing medical specialists for clinical services is of paramount importance for several reasons. Firstly, specialists possess in-depth expertise in specific areas of medicine, allowing for accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment. When patients have complex or rare conditions, specialists can offer the specialized knowledge required to manage these cases effectively.

Secondly, specialists stay abreast of the latest advancements and treatment modalities within their field, ensuring that patients receive the most up-to-date care. This can lead to improved treatment outcomes and quality of life. Additionally, seeing specialists often leads to more precise and personalized care. They tailor treatment plans to individual patient needs, taking into account factors like medical history, lifestyle, and preferences.

Moreover, specialists can provide a second opinion, offering an alternative perspective on a patient’s condition or treatment options. This can be invaluable when dealing with serious illnesses or complex medical decisions. Furthermore, timely access to specialists can expedite diagnosis and treatment, preventing conditions from worsening. For example, early intervention by a cardiologist in heart-related issues can prevent heart attacks or complications.

In conclusion, seeing medical specialists is essential for their expertise, access to the latest treatments, personalized care, second opinions, and timely interventions. Collaborating with specialists can significantly improve patient outcomes and overall healthcare quality.

Audiology

Audiology is the study of hearing, balance and related disorders. Audiologists are healthcare professionals who evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders in newborns, children and adults. Tanner Clinic has three audiologists: Jennifer Hogge, who holds a master’s degree in audiology, Sarah Chipman, who holds a master’s and clinical doctoral degree in audiology, and Monica Woods, who holds a clinical doctoral degree in audiology.

Esthetics

An Esthetician is a skin care specialist who can examine the condition of the skin and perform treatments like facials, hair removal, and makeup application. Facial services include massaging and treating the face with lotions, creams, and oils. If you have other skincare needs or concerns and do not see them listed, please contact us for more information on how we can best help you achieve your skin esthetic needs! Estheticians are state-licensed skincare professionals trained through formal esthetics programs or apprenticeships.

Medical Imaging

Mammography

Tanner Clinic’s Imaging Department offers a wide range of tests, including MRIs, ultrasound, CT scans, x-rays, mammograms and bone density screenings (DEXA).

The Imaging Department’s quick appointment time and speedy results advance Tanner Clinic’s role as a full-spectrum health-care provider.

To better assist patients, Tanner Clinic staff handles insurance preauthorization’s and provides results of imaging services within 48 hours.

Medical imaging is a method of producing noninvasive images of the internal aspects of the body. Ultrasound and the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) are perhaps the best known type of imaging procedures. Another common test is the CT (computed tomography) scan.

Medical Weight Loss

Losing weight, and then keeping it off, can be one of the most difficult life challenges. And to complicate things further, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution to losing weight. Being overweight is a complicated disease process, and there are several contributing factors that keep unwanted body fat lingering. Because each person’s body responds differently to weight loss treatments and plans, one-on-one consulting and planning with a weight-loss professional can be helpful in reaching success.

Nutrition Resources

Nutrition Resources is comprised of dietitians, diabetes educators, and eating disorder therapists. Read about those specialties below to find out more about what our providers can do for patients. A registered dietitian is an expert who can assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems. A dietitian can give you an accurate, personal nutrition plan to improve health and fight disease. Our dietitian will learn about your health, diet and exercise habits and then help you set goals to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Sleep Medicine

Sleep Center Hours:

Monday through Saturday evenings: 8pm – 6am

For more information, call (801) 773-4840 ext. 3412

Voice Therapy

Tanner Clinic’s voice therapists provide evaluations to look at your vocal folds. They look at how your voice muscles move. If your vocal folds are weak, you will be given strengthening exercises. If your voice box or larynx is tight you will be given exercises to relax the neck and larynx. You will likely be given breathing exercises, information on vocal hygiene and vocal flexibility exercises. As you progress in your therapy your exercises will change. Reassessment takes place often, as well as meeting as a team with your therapist and the physician who ensures your recovery.
