Rachelle Rose, PsyD is a provider on our mental health therapy team as a part of our Behavioral Health department. She is located at our Layton Antelope Building A in the west wing basement and specializes in treating pediatric patients. She received her education at John F. Kennedy University.

Her clinical work and testing over the past years have focused on developing strong skills in working with children and families who have complex medical or emotional needs. Rachelle has had the privilege of working with children who have a variety of medical struggles from rare neurological conditions to cancer. She also specializes in play therapy and sand trays to help children and families overcome their unique challenges.

Rachelle helps children and families dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, autism, adoption, and LGBTQ+ specific issues; working with children of all ages, as even our smallest children can struggle with and overcome big problems. She has worked with a variety of people with diverse gender identifications and strongly believes in supporting each individual to be their true and authentic self. Rachelle has experience working with military families and veterans and understands their unique needs and worldviews. She said “As we are all unique individuals, I use a variety of approaches depending on the needs and age of the patient. I am trained in play therapy, sand tray, CBT, and behavioral interventions.” Additionally, Rachelle strongly values diversity and how our individual worldviews and experiences create unique challenges and gifts. It is her passion to help each patient and family to find their inner strength and peace.

Rachelle believes her curiosity about the world and passion to live in a kinder, more loving world have made her successful in her career. She strongly believes that “if we want to live in a better world, it starts with each and every person on this planet. I have worked hard to increase diversity and understanding of diverse experiences. I strive to create safe spaces where everyone can thrive and be themselves.”

In her free time, Rachelle loves to knit and often has at least two knitting projects going on at a time; it is her version of meditation. “I find nothing better than a complex pattern of cables to relax the mind and help me remember to stay in the moment. I also love to bake (maybe that’s also a guilty pleasure).” She also enjoys reading, especially Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, saying the movies just don’t do the stories justice, but when she does watch movies, she likes the Marvel cinematic universe. Rachelle also enjoys baking and her favorite smells are fresh bread rising and baking or freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Her happy place is the beach or old-growth redwood forests. Having grown up in coastal California, she misses these huge trees and the sound of the pounding waves on the beach.
