Cindy Johnston, CDCES is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She is located in the Layton Antelope Building A in the East Basement and is accepting referrals and new patients ages 12 and older.
Cindy meets with patients who are living with diabetes, including Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. During an appointment, Cindy educates her patients about the specifics of diabetes to help them lead successful and healthier lifestyles as diabetics. She also offers training to patients who have diabetes management tools, such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors (CGM).
“I love to educate,” said Cindy. “The world of diabetes management is growing and advancing. There are always new technologies on the rise that help regulate the lifestyles of those living with diabetes and it’s exciting to be part of the growth.”
She currently serves as the Communications Director for the Diabetes Self-Management Education and Services Committee, which is part of the American Diabetes Association National Committee.
Cindy received her master’s degree in nursing education, her bachelor’s degree in nursing, and her associate degree in nursing from Weber State University. Outside of her practice, Cindy enjoys traveling around the globe.
