When asked about the work she does, McKenzie believes in working with individuals to help better their quality of life. She does this through developing new coping mechanisms, creating goals, aligning values with actions, and challenging negative thought patterns. Her primary therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).  McKenzie has training and experience working with diverse populations and with a variety of treatment needs; including individuals with behavioral health and medical conditions, domestic violence survivors, caregivers, LGBTQIA+, and individuals struggling with depression and anxiety.  She especially likes to work with adults and older adults who are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, insomnia, and those adjusting to major life changes or illnesses.

McKenzie grew up in North Ogden and is excited to provide care to patients at Tanner Clinic. Her hobbies and interests include hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family.  Given her certificate for Animal-Assisted therapeutic interventions, she is actively training her dog to obtain certification as a therapy animal to provide additional support to her patients.
